We have grown quite a bit since our previous issue but we are back and busier than ever! As many of you know, we have now acquired the former Colonial Senior Properties and they are now a part of our Homeplace of Henderson family! During this transitional period we have been prioritizing our resident’s care needs as well as getting them acclimated in their new home at Homeplace of Henderson on Adam’s Lane.
All of our residents were given newly renovated apartments and access to state of the art technology as well as phenomenal caregiving staff. We could not be more pleased with how this transition is going and have welcomed all of our new residents with open arms. With that being said, we have had so many activities occurring across the span of all of our properties over the course of the past month, where to begin!
First we want to highlight our 2024 Homeplace of Henderson Fall Party that featured all of our residents from each facility. We had pumpkin painting, hayrides, chili, smores, and more! Our residents enjoyed live musical entertainment while dining with their families and spending precious time with one another eating good food with great company. We had a cookie decorating station, caramel apples, and lots of dancing! It was a wonderful night spent with our residents and families and we could not be happier with how the event turned out.
We have also been on quite a few outings with our residents, including our biggest one yet at Moonlite BBQ in Owensboro, KY. Not only did we acquire some new properties but we also acquired a large bus that we were able to transport another handful of residents to the restaurant to eat together. We had an awesome time seeing Owensboro and gobbling up the BBQ buffet! This outing was so special being the first outing all of our residents were able to enjoy lunch together across all of our properties.
We have hosted a couple of our monthly dementia seminars since we last blogged, covering topics such as the different types of dementia, and stimulating activities with your loved one with dementia. Leading into the holidays we are looking forward to hosting our holiday dementia seminar, specializing in Dementia and the Holidays.
This seminar will be a wonderful resource for those who are taking care of their loved ones at home and struggling with the changes that happen during this time of year with their loved one. Be sure to check out the link to register on our Facebook, @Homeplace of Henderson! As we gear up for the most wonderful time of the year, we look forward to more painting parties and BINGO, but also more familial celebrations spent together.
We will have our Thanksgiving Dinner that we will host for our residents and families, as well as all of the Christmas Festivities you all can think of! Be sure to be on the lookout for our spectacular light show that will take place at our Green River Road location this year for you and your family to drive through and enjoy.
As always, thank you for joining us on our journey and for our latest installment of our blog! Be sure to keep up with us on our Facebook for more exciting events and activities!
