HOW IT BEGAN
Two careers. One hometown idea.
Jessica and Patrick Beaven grew up in Henderson and returned to raise their family here. Homeplace grew from their experience in senior care and a shared wish: more good choices for people in their hometown.
Jessica began her senior care career at Colonial Assisted Living in March 2010. Work in hospice at St. Anthony’s followed, before she returned to Colonial in marketing and admissions and later became its administrator. Each role deepened her understanding of what residents and families need when life changes.
Patrick’s path brought him back to Henderson after earning his MBA at Eastern Kentucky University. Jessica introduced him to senior care, where he went on to work in healthcare finance and operations and help develop an assisted living and memory care community in Lexington.

More choices, close to home.
In 2019, Jessica and Patrick stepped away from their jobs to build Homeplace. They broke ground in 2020 on a former bean field in Henderson County, with twelve local investors and the Henderson community behind them. The community opened on Green River Road in October 2021, offering assisted living and a memory care neighborhood built around an indoor Main Street.
Storefronts, a general store, a chapel, and front-porch seating give the memory care neighborhood its distinctive character. These familiar surroundings create places to walk, visit, and spend time together.
In 2024, the former Colonial communities became part of Homeplace—a meaningful homecoming to the place where Jessica’s career began. Today, the Homeplace family includes four communities in Henderson County:
- Homeplace at Green River Road: assisted living and memory care.
- Homeplace at Adams Lane: assisted living.
- Homeplace Court: independent living on Stadium Drive.
- Homeplace Cottages: independent living on Marie Place.

A familiar face at breakfast. A conversation about family. An activity that brings back a favorite memory. Alongside dependable support, these everyday connections help a new place begin to feel like home.
As a locally owned business, Homeplace is part of the community it serves. Our story continues through the residents, families, and team members who make these four communities their own. Henderson Family Magazine has named Homeplace its Platinum winner for retirement and assisted living every year from 2022 through 2026.
