Just like every other business in the United States, we’ve spent 2020 battling through the COVID-19 pandemic. We’ve adjusted our schedules, recalibrated our timelines, and moved work from one week to the next to adhere to changing guidelines. Despite all that, we want to tell our future residents that we’re still looking to open in late spring 2021, which has been adjusted slightly since we broke ground late last winter.
If you’ve not driven by, you haven’t seen that all our site work has been completed. Beyond that, you’ll see the footing and framing of several buildings coming up on our grounds, including the assisted living buildings at the front of our campus. On one of those buildings, the framing and trusses for the roof have been completed. On another, the concrete slab, footing, and stem walls are complete, with the framing to occur this month, which is also what will happen soon for the third. We hope to have all the buildings dried-in from December to the first of the year. Having all the buildings under roof by then will allow for much of the indoor work to occur during the cold and wet winter months. In addition to the building work, we’ve also completed the water, gas, and electric underground line work.
So why is this important for you?
We want to stress that our opening date hasn’t been pushed back months. We’re still on a progressive schedule. We want you to know we are ready for your coming or your elder loved one coming to live with us at the Homeplace of Henderson. And again, as always, we’re looking forward to you joining our family.
To that end, we are starting to hold regular office hours on our campus. Offices have been set up in the maintenance building. Patrick Beaven, Operations Manager and Jessica Beaven, Executive Director, will start working from the Homeplace site in November. The office space will allow us to meet with families or potential residents to discuss pre-leasing of apartments and be available to answer other questions in person. Now if you don’t feel comfortable coming to see us in person at this time, we are always available by phone or internet, and are happy to accommodate. Please call Jessica to schedule your appointment to meet in person or schedule a time to meet virtually at her number below.
We look forward to seeing you and serving you!
