We’ve been writing a lot recently about all the small decisions we’ve made so that our business and community is of the highest caliber. In those blog posts, we’ve stressed that no decision is too small, and we scrutinize each, no matter how big or small. Furthermore, we need to ensure that we choose the correct small and big pieces, and we must be sure those pieces fit together so that everything runs perfectly. Saying all that, we can’t deny that there are big pieces, and food and dining, well, it just might be the biggest. If you don’t have good food, you’re going to have a lot of unhappy residents.
This week we’re happy to announce that we’ve decided to team with Performance Food Group of Bowling Green to be our food provider. We’ve had discussions with their team and realized that their philosophy is similar to ours. Performance serves a large variety of quality comfort food and they do it with the Southern hospitality we run our business with. We couldn’t be happier with this choice.
We also like that Performance offers alternatives to their menus, so if a resident doesn’t like what’s being served as a main meal, there are options for him to find what he wants. They also have online menu so our employees can indicate what ingredients are in the meal for that day, what vegetables are in the vegetable medley, without having to guess and our residents know the details of what they are chosen before they make their choice for that day. Both the above-mentioned traits in this paragraph also play into our monthly town council meetings, in which we foresee food being a big conversation piece. Residents will be able to voice their opinions and effect change, and Performance has assured us they’ll be able to change options to suit our residents’ palettes.
Furthermore, Performance has a dietician on staff who will work to create healthy breakfast, lunch, and dinner menus that, of course, taste delicious, too.
A couple more benefits of Performance are the company offers training to our staff, so that we know food and machinery operations, thus allowing us to serve our residents properly, and Performance caters to special diets, such as sugar-free, low-sodium, and more.
Performance works hard to serve, and they provide service that makes residents proud and happy. This is a win for us. And this is a win for our residents.
