Many of our residents have spent an hour or two each week paying a visit to their favorite beauty salon. This weekly ritual has always been a part of their life, and the beauty parlor and beautician has offered a feeling of home—always welcoming and ready to take care of them. We don’t want that routine to change when they are with us. We know our residents want to look good, and we want to make sure they look good.
To ensure that happens, Homeplace will have two beauty salons on our campus. One will be in the personal care area, and the other will be in the memory care unit. Both salons will be operated by our partner, Glamour Hair Bar, which has its main branch in Audubon Village. Glamour Hair Bar will staff our salons with hair care professionals who have more than 16 years of hair styling experience. Their staff includes Patty Roby and Michelle Garrett, a mother and daughter duo, and they will be joined by Loc Troung, who works at Henderson Nails.
One of our key agreements with Glamour Hair Bar is that stylists must be at Homeplace once a week, and if someone can’t be there, a replacement will. We know our residents depend upon this and look forward to getting their hair done, and that means consistency is very important.
The personal care salon will be modern and full-service, including a nail table, a shampoo booth, and two styling chairs. Residents can make appointments for hair, nails, and waxing.
The memory care salon will be just a bit different. Instead of a modern look, it will give off a more vintage feel. Like the assisted living salon, it will have a nail table and a shampoo booth, but will have only one styling chair.
One more thing—this all may sound like this is just for women. That’s not the case. These professionals will also provide men’s haircuts and beard trims.
This is another local partnership that we’re excited to have created. We know our local professionals care about our local elderly loved ones like family, and we know Glamour Hair Bar will give our residents the consistency and professionalism they crave. And of course, our residents will be looking good!
