Happy Holidays from Homeplace!

As the year comes to an end—and what a challenging year it has been—we want to wish our future residents, their families, and our community a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! We cannot wait to provide excellent care and service to the area’s aging population when we open in late spring.

Late spring is still the projected opening date. There’s been no change about that. Our final update of 2020 shows that construction and plans are moving along at a good pace. All three buildings that will be the Assisted Living homes are under roof, and the Memory Care unit has been framed and trusses will be put on in the next few days. The Memory Care building will be under roof by New Year’s. Additionally, the main corridor, which will connect the Memory Care unit, the three Assisted Living buildings, and the front entrance will be under roof by the third week of January.

Again, we stress that construction will be done in time for our scheduled opening in late spring. With that in mind—and as we move into a new year—we feel it’s another opportunity to plan ahead for 2021. If you believe that you or an aging family member might move into Homeplace when we open, now is the time to call. With this call, you can get put on a ‘those interested’ list. This list doesn’t tie you down to living at Homeplace, but it will give you the opportunity to if that is what you end up desiring.

We will start calling people on the list in March or April. At this time, we will determine if you or your family member want to come live with us. If so, we will set up a deposit and reserve the appropriate room. There’s no promise with your getting put on the list now, only the opportunity to live here in the spring. We will begin by calling those who contacted us first, so if you wait too long, spots might be taken. If you have even the slightest inkling that you or a family member will need care in five or six months, call us.

We’ll end this end-of-the-year blog post with where we began: Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from all of us at the Homeplace of Henderson! We look forward to serving you and your family in the new year!
