Think of the most inviting café, or the most charming one, or the café that made you happiest when you visited. Possibly it was decorated in a way that relaxed you and easily allowed you to settle into a comfortable seat with your coffee and a favorite book. Maybe it was a meeting place where you gathered with all your friends to tell jokes and swap stories. Or it could have been a place that allowed you to get away and offered you just enough quiet to get some things done. But no matter the specific reason for your going, there’s one reason why everyone goes to a favorite café: they just like being there.
That’s what we think about the Homeplace Café—it’s a place where people like to be, though the reasons are as varied as the number of people who visit. Some are family members of elder loved ones at our facility and they can sit with her and chat. Others are guests sipping on a cup of coffee as they’re waiting to take a tour. And then there are the residents who come to catch up on the news with a paper or on television. Vendors also use the café to wait for their meetings in comfort, allowing them a chance to put final touches on presentations or to get other work done until a meeting.
The café always has a fresh pot of coffee warming. That’s a given. And there are other beverages, such as juices and tea, if someone doesn’t want coffee. The café is kept stocked with snacks approved by our dieticians. WiFi is also available for both guests and residents.
We know a first impression can sometimes set the tone for an entire relationship, and that’s why we’ve set our cafe near our facility’s entrance, next to our front desk, ready to greet people as they enter. We feel our little café will greet you and relax you in a way that lets you know you are in good hands. We want everyone who walks in to get a feeling of the quality service we provide. We think the café sets the tone for all that we do here. And we hope, like your favorite cafes, it’s a place where you want to be.
