As this frigid February ends and warm weather begins to tease us, our long-awaited opening is starting to feel more like a reality. It seems like yesterday when we first decided to pursue this dream; closer still was the day we broke ground last winter. We’re not there yet and there’s still so much work to be done, but the recent warm breezes refresh our resolve to see this through to the finish line. Unfortunately, the finish line has been moved back again. We had hoped to open in late spring, but now it looks like June or July. It’s only a minor setback because if the time passes as it has since this all began, the opening will be here in a flash and what a grand celebration it will be!
This is a good time to mention some reminders from us.
First, with the opening on its way, we want to again urge interested people—either the family member or a loved one or a future resident himself—to give us a call. We can talk about all that we offer at Homeplace and get that person on the list. When we mention this list, it’s not a list of ‘for certain’ future residents. It’s simply a list that will ensure you or your loved one the opportunity to move in when we open. We’ll start calling people on the list in May, and that’s when we will firm up our reservations and begin to take payments. So, call now if you’re interested.
Second, we want to again remind you that Homeplace is hosting virtual dementia seminars. These seminars occur the second Tuesday of every month from 6-7 p.m. We also host a virtual caregiver support group the third Tuesday of each month from 8-9 a.m. and virtual conversations about Homeplace, which take place the fourth Thursday of every month from 5-7 p.m.
Third, if you have any questions about anything going on at Homeplace, we urge you to call us directly. The number is listed below.
That’s it for this week. The snow has melted, and the birds are chirping here at Homeplace. Construction is continuing at a quick pace. Soon we’ll be welcoming all our new residents, and we hope you or your loved one can join our family.
