Resident Care Coordinator


Responsibilities:

Communicate with the Executive Director on resident needs on an as needed basis to ensure consistent quality service.

Participate in providing care and specific tasks as required and in support of the resident’s plan of care.

Assists the Director of Wellness to plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct caregivers, in accordance with current rules and regulations.

Maintains accurate records of employees licenses and certifications including state specific requirements i.e., BLS, TB, etc.

Makes adjustments as needed to schedule according to budgetary constraints, census fluctuations, calls-offs, and pre-planned leaves of absence.

Manages, supports, coordinates and approves all employees’ PTO requests, Holiday rotations, and shift trades.

Generates and posts all required postings such as daily assignment sheets and monthly schedules.

Manages employee’s hours and proper staff ratio to census.

Monitors overtime closely with the goal of decreasing/eliminating overtime.

Anticipates staffing needs, recruits and takes rapid action to partner with management team with the goal of minimizing open positions.

Meets each new employee to review their schedule, ask what needs they have and ensure a smooth onboarding experience.

Assists with onboarding coordination and classes.

Recognizes employees, mediates staff conflicts and supports employee development.

Rounds on each shift to provide review of consistent staffing levels.

Communicate effectively with management, co-workers, residents, families, visitors, and other disciplines.

Adheres to procedures for fire, life safety, disaster, security, worker safety and other emergency procedures.

Maintain resident confidentiality and adhere to HIPPA policies.

Seek out and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Must have compassion for and desire to work alongside our aging population!

High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) required.

College Education, preferred.

1 year of supervisory or management experience including hiring staff, coaching, performance management, preferred.

1 year of experience preferred in assisted living, long term care, hospital industry or related field, preferred.

Understand medical terminology and communicate with medical professionals.

Effectively communicate with families, residents, and co-workers.

Problem solving skills required.

Experience with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Understanding State Regulations and Human Resources Rules.

Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug test.
