“Every day spent at Homeplace is a holiday and every meal is a banquet. Homeplace is home to me” – John Moon, Resident.

Homeplace is hometown proud, and over the past almost 2 years now, we have been serving residents and families with the best senior care in the tri-state area. Developing friendships, making memories, and participating in daily activities are just a few of the things that our residents enjoy here at Homeplace. Homeplace has proven to provide family, friendship, and community to our residents as well as our residents’ families, and staff. Homeplace has many happenings in the coming months, but specifically this month we are showcasing our annual Cruise-In Car Show on September 29th. The residents thoroughly enjoy this event and get to look at all of the classic antique vehicles, it is an awesome experience for the community as well.

This past week here at Homeplace our residents have enjoyed participating in the Senior Games at the Gathering Place here in Henderson. These games happen annually and this year our residents were apt and ready to participate and bring home the gold to Homeplace! We have had multiple residents participate in cornhole, as well as table tennis and the mile walk! When leaving the cornhole competition yesterday, one of our residents shared their happiness for participating in the event. “I loved this! It was so fun! I am glad that I decided to participate” said Fred Collins, as we were leaving the event. We had one of our residents win the cornhole competition, John Grenwell. John was playing a very strong competitor, but ultimately he won by 2 points and brought the win back to Homeplace! John Moon, another one of our participating residents, competed against that same competitor the day prior, and showed us his skills!

Homeplace was also the lunch sponsor for Tuesday aka “Taco Tuesday” at the Senior Games event, and we served up tons of food that was greeted by smiling seniors. Homeplace partnered with local business Tacoholics in order to cater the event, serving beef and chicken tacos as well as chips and salsa and the works! As this week at Homeplace winds down, we finish off Thursday with Trivia Night! Residents and their families as well as staff participate in decades themed trivia! Our residents and families thoroughly enjoy this evening event, breaking up into teams and competing for the win! And bragging rights, of course.

When we take a glimpse back on the week here at Homeplace, it is filled with many triumphs for our residents as senior athletes! We have enjoyed the annual event and look forward to participating in the coming years with our residents. Transitioning into next week, residents have many things on their dockets! Including Zumba, Library visits, fishing, more cornhole, and bingo of course. There is never a dull moment here at Homeplace, we cannot wait to see what next week brings for our residents!
