Progressive Rehab, Therapy Partner

We know that alone, Homeplace of Henderson can do a good job of taking care of our residents’ needs. But good is not good enough. We need to be great. To do that, we need partnerships with both community and professional organizations, and we’re going to pursue as many as we can.

One partnership we’re excited to announce is with Progressive Rehab. This relationship will allow professional therapists to offer services at Homeplace two to three times each week. Progressive’s professional therapists will be able to offer outpatient rehabilitation programs to our residents, which will be much much more convenient than residents going to Progressive’s office. This service on our campus will be geared specifically for our residents and not for the public.

This is an added layer to our already robust care. Progressive therapists will provide more intense and higher quality rehabilitation services than what our staff can do alone. It’s a big win for us because it’s another benefit we can offer that allows our residents to age in place.

Furthermore, Progressive will provide on-site equipment that allows our residents who may have fallen or have another problem to never have to leave to get the aggressive therapy they need.

Of the many treatments Progressive will be able to provide, one is called VitalStem, which is a non-invasive external electrical stimulation therapy used to treat those having difficulties swallowing.

Another treatment is called Optimum Balance. It’s an advanced sports therapy that helps people with balance dysfunction. We find this therapy particularly important because falls are one of the leading causes of injury for our residents.

Another treatment offered by Progressive works to reduce swelling caused by Lymphedema. This is an intensive therapy at the outset and residents will work closely with a therapist to develop a strong plan.

These are just a few of the treatment plans offered by Progressive. They offer so much more, and all will benefit our residents’ rehabilitation needs.
