Happy New Year! It has been very busy this past month here at The Homeplace of Henderson and we have some new exciting things happening this year that we cannot wait to share with all of you! Before we get into the new happenings, let’s take a moment to rewind and look at the past few weeks here at The Homeplace of Henderson.
The holidays were in full swing and we were jingle bell rockin’ for Christmas this year! We celebrated accordingly, and enjoyed our resident Christmas party with all of our family and friends. Our Christmas party entailed some yummy Christmas themed snacks, tons of reindeer games, dancing, and photos with Santa! Each resident received a special gift from Santa from under the tree after they had their photo taken with him. We thoroughly enjoyed spending time with the residents and their families to ring in the holiday season.
As we shift our focus to the new year, we look forward to new experiences for not only our residents but our families as well. This year, we are hosting our Dementia Education Seminars VIRTUALLY! We know how busy life can be, especially caring for a loved one who is struggling with Dementia. We have decided to move our monthly meetings to be accessed via Zoom, so that way you can join our educational discussions from the comfort of your home on your time. We will record the discussions and will air these on our social media after the meeting so that if you cannot attend at the time of the meeting, you can still receive all of the information. These discussions that will take place have been pre-planned, so you can sign up to 6 months in advance to save your spot in the session. Some of our topics this year include: Advance Planning, Dementia and Mobility, Dementia and Hearing Loss, and more! We have an awesome guest speaker attending one of our sessions as well who will be giving some great advice on pre-planning and handing personal matters and finances for your loved one who is struggling with Dementia. This is just one of the new changes that we are implementing for the 2024 year and we look forward to seeing you all there! All in all, going into the new year we are looking forward to many more Bingo games, lot’s of live music, fishing by the pond, holidays spent with one another, some great food, and as always, making new memories! We are so excited to see what the new year brings for our Homeplace of Henderson residents and family and we will continue to update you on our new happenings in the coming months.
