Happy Holidays from the Homeplace!

Things have been jumping this past week at The Homeplace of Henderson! We have had tons of special guests themed around this holiday season, as well as unveiling our brand new light show for the community. So without further ado, let’s dive into the happenings here at the HOH! First off, the biggest announcement from this week had to be our brand new Christmas light show that we debuted this past weekend. Highlights of the Homeplace of Henderson Christmas Light Show include:

  1. Synchronized light Display: Thousands of twinkling lights will dance in harmony to a curated soundtrack of beloved holiday tunes. The synchronization promises a captivating audio-visual experience that will transport spectators to a winter wonderland right here in Henderson.
  2. Immersive Themes: The light show will feature enchanting themes that capture the essence of the season, from our Homeplace of Henderson Barn winter scene, to a classic nativity scene. Each theme is carefully designed to evoke nostalgia and create lasting memories for all friends and family.
  3. Family-Friendly Photo Opportunities: In addition to the main event, Homeplace of Henderson has created a range of family-friendly photo opportunities, including our giant “Merry Christmas” holiday sign photo display. The event aims to foster a sense of community and bring people together in the spirit of the season to engage with local family and friends.

Some of the other awesome activities that we participated in this past week included having a guest Bingo caller – an officer from the Henderson Police Department! The residents absolutely loved him and the prizes he brought for Bingo and requested he call everyday! We had Christmas cooking this past week with Julie Adkins and made some great toasted pecans which the residents absolutely loved. We also had tons of holiday musical guest performances this week that pleased the residents! The Zion Baptist Children’s Church paid us a visit and went around the homes and sang Christmas carols to our residents, which they absolutely adored.

We also were joined by a new group called “The Chatty Mermaids” who were a group of individuals who sang Christmas songs for our residents during lunch. Last but not least, we participated in more Christmas baking with our residents, making “Puppy Chow” and wrapping Christmas gifts!

All in all as we gear up for the holiday season, we are looking forward to more fun activities involving our residents and our families. Be sure to bring your family and friends from the community and pay us a visit to see our spectacular Christmas light show! Happy Holidays from the Homeplace.
