Patrick Beaven

Operations Manager

Patrick Beaven didn’t see himself getting into the senior healthcare industry when he graduated with a Master of Business Administration degree from Eastern Kentucky University in 2010. In fact, he wasn’t even planning to move back to Henderson, his hometown. He was happy in Central Kentucky and optimistic about opportunities there.

But on a trip back home, he stopped in at Dempewolf to get his oil changed, and there he met up with an old buddy. Soon he learned there was an opening as business manager. That quickly, he was offered the position. He left that day with an oil change and a new job.

Now back living in Henderson, the wheels of fate kept turning and pretty soon, he started dating Jessica, now his wife, who first introduced him to her passion, senior healthcare.

After three years at Dempewolf, he founded and worked as the chief financial officer of Ashby Cares. In his time there, he started two licensed healthcare agencies and planned the development and operations of Meadowthorpe Assisted Living and Memory Care in Lexington, among other accomplishments. He served as CFO at Ashby Cares until 2016. From there he moved into the chief operating officer role at the same company, before resigning in 2019 to start work on Homeplace of Henderson.

Patrick also earned a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy from the University of Kentucky in 2008.

Although he didn’t start out with a plan to spend his career in the senior healthcare industry, he now counts himself lucky for it to have found him.

“You get to do good for people and have the opportunity to work in a solid industry,” he says. “And we’re going to improve that industry.”
